Once revered and integral to our agrarian economy, many cows today are abandoned, left to roam roads without food or shelter—victims of urban neglect and changing values. Consuming plastic from garbage dumps leads to fatal diseases, while road accidents and illegal slaughter threaten their existence. To combat this, Shri Mataji Gaushala, founded in July 2007 under the divine leadership of Padmashri Shri Ramesh Baba Ji Maharaj, has taken a historic step: launching India’s first 100% cow-dedicated hospital. With over 55,000 cows under care in the Braj region, the hospital provides advanced veterinary care and research, aiming to preserve indigenous cattle and restore dignity to cow welfare. Shri Shyam Lakshmi Cow Hospital: India’s First 24x7 Advanced Cattle Care Center Shri Shyam Lakshmi Hospital & Research Centre, operated by Shri Mataji Gauvansh Sewa Trust, is India’s first-of-its-kind modern cow hospital, capable of treating over 3,000 cows simultaneously. Equipped with 25 ambulances , 5 fully equipped operating theatres , an ICU , hydrotherapy , and round-the-clock veterinary teams , this facility ensures humane, high-tech treatment for suffering cattle.
